I bought a domain and hosting.Yes I did. I feel kind of silly opening this blog only to jump to a new so soon, but I really love Wordpress. Blogger is nice, I just prefer being able to have the control I get from purchasing hosting and a domain. I went through VoNetwork, as I've used them before and was pretty happy. It'll take a few days to get everything up and running, but I'm already super stoked. I'm designing my layout and picking out plugins, I forgot how much I enjoyed owning a domain, it's been over a year since I let my last one expire (short attention span, my bad).
Shush Now
Andrew and I are not married. Andrew and I have no plans of getting marred in any near future. Andrew and I are engaged, I refer to him as my fiancé. I've had people tell me we shouldn't do this, as we haven't set a wedding date. Whatevs. He asked me, I said yes, we started planning a wedding, life took precedence over a party.
We are still engaged, we still intend to marry each other one day. Right now, it's just not at the top of our priority list. We are raising/wrangling our seven month old daughter. We're trying to balance full time work and full time school, so one day we can have the careers we truly want.
You would be shocked at the amount of people who believe it is their place to tell me I am raising my daughter incorrectly because we did not dash down the aisle when we found out we were pregnant. At least, I was shocked. Shocked so many people don't know how to mind their own damn business.
I'm not just talking about members of our families, either. We knew there would be some response there, but we were prepared for that. We weren't prepared for people we barely knew to pontificate on our decisions and choices. Claire is happy and healthy, and that's all that matters to me.
101 in 1001
Yes, I have started a project that will last 2.742465753424658 years. It will be exciting, as long as you have DVR and can skip through the slow bits. You can view my list and progress on my Day Zero profile. Today, 8/10/10, I have started two goals:
25. Take two photographs a day for a month.
60. Comment on at least 3 different blogs every day for a month.
Today I actually took 4 photos (not counting the ones for the Photography Girls August challenge). Me and Claire's ducky had an excellent photo shoot in a Pyrex pan full of bubbles on my kitchen counter.

I also had fun with and tried out some of the trends I see a lot of these days. From left to right:
RGB Noise - I like it, kind of, nice grainy feel.
Warmth - I think I like the cool look better, which is why I chose the warm, and I am actually pretty happy with it.
B&W - Meh, still feels faux artsy to me.
Cross Process - Pretty cute, I went brighter with mine than most do, and I definitely like it better.

7 Months
Claire turned 7 months on August 7th, and since then there have been oodles of adventures.
Claire, using her wealth of technical support knowledge, fixed my computer for me. By fix, I mean somehow the random banging of the keyboard and aimless flick of the touchpad proved to be the formula to putting an unknown and irretrievable password on my laptop. And then locking it.
She has discovered how to keep Igor from fleeing from her. Lay on him, and don't move. Now he must stay and endure her enthusiastic hugs, love pinches and shrieks of joy. Child abuse? Absolutely not, she loves it. Animal abuse? More than likely.
We have no need of sippy cups. They are for lesser babies who do not understand the concept of a real cup. One that lacks handles and spill free spouts. Claire isn't quite sure how to successfully operate this big girl cup just yet, but at least she understands it.
